Emerald Isle is Keeping Their Community Clean and Beautiful
The motto of Emerald Isle in the Crystal Coast is “Nice Matters!” This small coastal community reflects this motto in their treatment of visitors to their beautiful shores—southern hospitality at its best! But it is also reflected in the way they respect their beaches, marshlands and roads. The people of Emerald Isle place a huge value in keeping their area litter free!
Gary Chamberlain, a Murphy, North Carolina resident, recently wrote an editorial complimenting and thanking the residents of Emerald Isle for their pride in ownership and the way they’ve kept their community clean. He thanked them for their efforts to be “a nearly perfect, litter-free community.” Gary is an anti-litter advocate working closely with America The Beautiful & Bag Ready Jobs. In his many travels, he states that “I have never visited a cleaner community than Emerald Isle.”
The love of Emerald Isle and the desire to keep her beautiful starts from the top. The Emerald Isle Town Hall distributes tons of information to its residents about Garbage and Recycling regulations. But this does little unless the people are behind it. And the people of Emerald Isle have embraced this! From church groups to students to individuals, the people volunteer and pick up trash because they want to see the beauty of Emerald Isle unspoiled by litter. There’s even a Facebook Community called Emerald Isle: NO LITTER ZONE which organizes beach cleanup days.
If you’re looking for a safe, clean and kind location for your next vacation, look no further than Emerald Isle in the Crystal Coast. Keeping America beautiful starts one community at a time. And hopefully, with examples like Emerald Isle leading the way, it will spread all throughout our nation.
‘America the Beautiful’ exists at Emerald Isle
